What a brilliant time on the river with our extended family, 12 members ranging from 18 months to 90. Our wheelchair user was made to feel very welcome, everything was effortless for her. We passed some glorious houses, boats and wildlife – the people watching kept everyone entertained.
The Rivertime Boat Trust provide a professional, friendly and fun experience. Our family are already arranging their next cruise.
August was a busy month for us and crowned with a boat trip along the Thames, aren’t we the lucky people!
RIVERTIME even has a lift for wheelchair users and members with reduced mobility.
The day gave its best, brilliant sunshine with cooling breeze from the get-go. The crews very knowledgeable running commentary was delightful, with the narrative aided by a couple of our Henley-born members who enjoyed reminiscing their times in ration-book Henley during the 50s.
When passing the Shiplake meadows, we happened across a gaggle of colourful Canada geese…Victoria’s illegal immigrants…attractive creatures perhaps, but so noisy. Nearby were the more elegant very English Greylag Geese…quietly, almost conspiratorially, chatting amongst themselves, what a great day!
We are looking forward to next years outing.
What can I say, what a fabulous morning we had on the Thames with The Rivertime Boat Trust.
It is easy for us to take seizures in our stride as we see them a lot and know how to deal with them. This is why it is so important for us to come together as a group so we can enjoy each other’s company knowing should things happen we can deal with them calmly. Thank you for showing empathy, kindness and absolute professionalism. To have such a facility as your boat is wonderful.
We will certainly come again if you will have us.
Our family cruises aboard Rivertime are always the highlight of our summer so it was no surprise that Sam chose to celebrate his 30th birthday onboard.
Sam sat in his wheelchair surrounded by pirate crew and a pirate feast. He smiled and laughed all afternoon.
Thank you for making a special day of memories for us all
During a recent trip to the UK to visit my dad at his care home, we were looking for something relaxing and stimulating to do. Our cruise on Rivertime ticked all the boxes – dad and I are still now looking at photos.
Without the Trust and this special boat these excursions would simply not be possible.
One of our students who finds it difficult to relax, found being on the boat very calming. He was able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, commenting that the day was ‘perfect’.
Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the river cruise, they were talking about it for weeks after. Great facilities on board and a very welcoming crew.
Thank you for the amazing opportunity to spend time on the river with you. The day was pitched just right for our SEN students, they were so calm and relaxed – which isn’t always the case.
The Learning Outside the Classroom activities were so simple but engaging, even those who don’t usually participate got stuck in.
We can’t wait to return.
