Are you an experienced boat handler with a passion for helping others? The Rivertime Boat Trust is seeking dedicated volunteer skippers to join our team in Henley-on-Thames! Rivertime operates a 12 seat cruiser with a hydraulic wheelchair lift. As a volunteer skipper, you will play a crucial role in providing accessible boating experiences on the River Thames for adults and children with learning and physical challenges.
Requirements:
Experience in helming boats on the River Thames (Qualifications not required to apply – we will supply full training. RYA Inland Waterways Helm will be required after training)
A passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others
73 years of age or younger.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A valid DBS Check – carried out by the charity
RYA first aid course – arranged by charity
Attend annual training before start of boating season and initial induction trips and ongoing training
Availability to complete at least 10 x 2 hour trips per year, as well as participate in training
Be familiar with the charity’s policies and follow the Standard Operating Procedures.
